”The devil has put a penalty on all things we enjoy in life. Either we suffer in health or we suffer in soul or we get fat. ”
– Albert Einsten –
A. 5 Rounds:
- 6 Tire Flips + in and out Jumps @ 300lbs
- 1 Rope Climb up and over
- 1 Flight Downward Bear Crawl
B. Tabata Double Unders:
40, 40, 27(!), 40, 35, 39, 39, 40 = 300 reps
So, Mr Einstein, I think you were wrong for once. The above wod actually didn’t make me suffer too much and I don’t think it made me fat either!
Good balance between the exercises because I was pretty much moving the whole time. First round in 1’20ish and last one in just under 1’30. 3rd & 4th the slower ones. Doing Bear Crawls down a stair is very interesting, it basically compromise your midsection just enough to stop you from breathing properly and that was what taxed me the most.
Tabata DU was only coz Jobst told me that Chris Spealler has a low score of 40 in this one. ”I can do that!” I said confidently and then failed miserably. Got stressed after the first miss on the 3rd round and just messed up. Next time I definitely think I’ll get over 35 as a low score at least.
Actually feeling decently conditioned at the moment, even though my problems with sticking with my old new rules of ”a maximum of 3 glasses of wine once a week” is quite evident. Back on the weights next week, which will be fun. But, first the beach and some 800g of beef ribs – Summer has finally arrived in Cape Town!
