C. Olympic Lifting Tecnhique Session with Coach, 2h.
”This will make your front rack feel awesome and your dips like a resting station during ‘Elizabeth’.” is what Carl Paoli wrote about today’s wod at GWOD. Perfect, my sore and stiff shoulders need all the help they can get, was what I thought. Felt good, and even though it was a bit off aiching involved even the HSPU’s felt better than before.
Need to work on being completly straight for my goal of ”5 perfect reps”, but all in all I feel that I can go all the way down for reps now.
Won’t say to much about the OL-Coaching, but maybe I’m a bit spoiled when comparing it to the awsomeness of Dutch Lowy’s teachings. As good as it is to break the lifts down again and again, I feel that I need more of related tips and cues to how I can improve my faulty technique than this guy was able to give. When we did the seminar with Dutch, last july, all he did was making a quick point about positioning, angles or whatever and all of a sudden the lift was there. That’s the perfect way of coaching if you ask me and that’s what I always will be looking for in a coach..
As said, I’ve now finished the 5th week of my Strength Bias (inspired) programme and I’m starting to feel the effects, both physically and mentally. Just need to get my self together and really focus on next weeks max lifts before I get the well deserved deload-weak. Must say that I however am very pleased with the way this has played out, regardless of the results next week. 6 weeks of pretty heavy lifting and dito metcons is just about what I can handle. After the deload, my plan is to do three really heavy weeks and also try to play around a bit with a way higher calorie intake to make sure my body is fully energized for that. If everything goes as planned, I’m sure my lifts will keep increasing and my work capacity shoot through the roof, which is the main goal of that next period. If that would be to the cost of me getting over that 80 kg line on the scale, well I won’t cry about that either…
