Oh btw, this was actually planned before CrossFitDave‘s new PB. Even though it looks like it, I’m not competing with his programming… 😉
However, new PB’s are always welcome!
2pm Yogaman’s WOD:
A. Wendler 5/5/5+, Hang Power Clean:
67.5kg/5, 72/5, 76.5/6 (7th failed).
B. Wendler, 5/5/5+ Snatch Balance:
44.5/5, 47.5/5, 51/7 (8th failed).
C. Split Jerk, find max for day (one miss and it’s all over!):
43/4, 61/2, 84/2, 93/1, 102/1, 107/1 PB!, 111/fail.
D. ”Buy-out”, 20 Over Head Squats @ 43kg:
My clean technique is really rusty and I was all over the place in these. Need to lean over more from the hang, use the hipdrive more, work faster with my elbows and stop getting on to my toes before i reach full extension, bah. Snatch Balance was a little bit about the same problem with standing on the toes. I don’t mind going to failure with these since it’s such a technique issue for me, compared to say a strict press. Both failures was technical mistakes.
Split Jerk was secondary prioritized in my programme today and only to see that I still have 100+ in me, going for max C&J on Friday and wanted to have a buffert. So I was very surprised that I got a new PB! Ran out of time in the end, (late for a chiro session again), so with a little more rest in between lifts and maybe not as many warm ups before, I feel pretty confident that I’ll get 110+ next time. As always though, it’s not about what you think you can do, but about what you actually did. Which I am quite pleased with anyway.
OHS buy-out was light, felt it a bit in my wrists and hip flexors in the end but no biggie. Gonna progress this one up about 5kg per week…
Active rest day tomorrow and if today’s weather will come again, I won’t mind my morning beach runs at all. Was like a good summer day with approx 25 degrees and sunshine all day today. Also gonna go back for some acupuncture tomorrow. Looking forward to that? Not so much…
PS. A special shout out to my very cool and special petit frere on his 16th birthday today! Wish I could be there, but I’ll find a way to make it up to you – love you endlessly!
