”Only those who risk going too far
can possibly find out how far one can go…”

- T.S. Elliot

13.00 WOD @ CFN

A. ”On ze Minute” 5*2-pos Snatch @ 50 kg (hip/knee).
B1. Snatch High Pull 5*2
50kg/2, 60/2, 70/2, 70/2, 70/2
B2. Snatch Balance 5*2 (plan: ”max for day”).
50kg/2, 60kg/F+2, 70/F+F – 60/2, 60/2, 60/2
C. Over Head Squats 3*3-5 @ 32X1-tempo
60kg/5, 70/5, 80/3

D. 3 Rounds for Time:
Shame level: 15 min, Goal: <12 min, Dream: <9 min

  • 5 Muscle Ups: 5 – 2/1/1/1 – 1/1/1/1/1
  • 10 CTB-Pull Ups: 10 – 10 – 10
  • 500m Row: 1’47 min – 1’48 – 1’55

Total Time: 14’27 min

Well, body feels quite good but as in yesterday’s hill runs, I seem to lack explosiveness. High Pulls where meant to go heavier, but instead I really had trouble exploding from hip. Right hip is quite sore and feels ”weird” in squat positions witch also made the OHS a bit unstable. Also, my shoulders seems to be really stiff and I had to struggle to get to the lock out pos in the over head, causing a few missed lifts. Maybe my CNS is still a bit fatigued from the competition?
For the metcon, that I duplicated from CrossFitDave, it was excactly as horrible as I expected. First round 3 min, second I was done before 9 min, but then the last MU’s took me about 3 min, still no missed reps but plzzzz.. Two goats in one metcon (rowing and MU) is probably good for me, but still I was disappointed to actually be more taxed from these rows then I was from my 1’32 down in Denmark.

Conclusion: I need to start pushing my self harder! I am running some kind of alibi show in my metcons, where I’m super scared of bonking, which according to me is instead what I should be going for. Like in the quote above, only if I really push my self to and above my limit will I know where it is and become a better athlete. All in all, a pretty mediocre session, but I’ll get a new chance to redeem my self tomorrow when I have an anxiety loaded date with ”Elisabeth”! ;)

Awakening

29 09 2010

”You are a human being. What does that mean?
Mastery of life is not a matter of control,
but of finding a balance between human and Being..”

- Eckhardt Tolle, A new Earth

Focus

11 am, WOD:

A. Every 3rd minute – 5 * ˜150m Hill Sprint @ 90%:
26.8s, 26.6, 25.8, 26.4, 25.4

B. 20 Plank Positions for 20 sec each = 6 min total.

Body is craving a lot of sleep. Been setting alarms and then snoozed for hours every day since I got back from Denmark. Decided to see if that in combination with a slightly irritated throat was something on the edge of breaking out or if it just was time to awake the body and get back into business!
Hill sprints felt ok. Never went for max speed, but my legs didn’t respond 100% anyway. Didn’t feel heavy or so, just not that explosiveness I had last time. However, recovery between intervals felt fine and I think I’m ready to go back to the gym soon. The plank workout was something I found online a while ago, and damn, it was though! Actually had to make small breaks towards the end cause my shoulders was so burned out. Sweating and breathing hard from plain midline stability work? Guess I need to do more of this…

Recovery and Goal Setting

12.30 pm: 1.6 km Recovery Run @ ˜70% + Mobility WOD #35 & #36

Actually my body doesn’t feel as destroyed as I expected today. Still sore in neck and back but, as said way less then one would think. Still gonna have at least 3 days of only light running and mobility work to recover.

However if I wanna get better I can’t just sit on my ass like below and do nothing. Planning my training towards the Swedish Nationals in mid November I’m gonna have the following goals:

  • Clean & Jerk: 110 kg
  • Snatch: 80 kg
  • 500m Row: sub 1:30 min

My training will be more and more tuned in to give me a higher work capacity and to bring my deadlifting back into play. I will focus on technique work in the oly’s since I think I already have these weights within me and then the heavy work will be a lot of deads and OHS. Also I will incorporate more outdoor running sessions and rowing whenever at CFN. Oh, and even if I do like the Ogre Look above I think it’s time to become one rahter then looking like one, so it might finally be time to cut that hair after almost an entire year of letting it grow..?

Think my exact words were: "Next time, you run and I'll be the judge.."

Fit as F*ck Recap

26 09 2010

Wow, what a day!

First of all: huge thanks to Ditte and Sarah for putting up a great challenge, the atmosphere was unbelievably cool!

Also a very special thanks to all friends, competing and none competing, old and new for showing support and just being as great as you all are! Competing in all honour, but all the time in between events, chating and bonding with just about everybody sharing the same love for this kind of lifestyle is what makes this all so great.

To avoid making this a 2 hour read, I think it’s easier if I try to make a small summary for every event? Most likely it will be a long post as always anyway..

10.00 Event 1 – ”Skill Session, pass/fail and minus points for failed skills.”

  • 1 Rope Climb, approx 5m(?)
    Easy.
  • 70 kg Squat Snatch
    1st try!
  • 10 Hand Stand Push Ups, within 2 min.
    Unbroken.
  • 30 Unbroken Double Unders, within 2 min.
    1st try.
  • 10 Pistols each leg, within 2 min.
    Alternating right & left, easy.
  • 500 m Row sub 1:35 min
    1:32’6 PB!
  • 7 Muscle Ups, within 2 min.
    Singles, no miss.

My dream was to get through all these. With 10 min warm up, including only three snatches at 40-50kg which felt horrible, I didn’t expect to get that one though. But, the adrenalin pumping through ones body in this kind of environment with the audience roaring meters away brings out the best in anybody. Somehow I just pulled the bar into my best Squat Snatch ever! I even sat in the hole for a few seconds while my judge yelled, ”it’s a rep, it’s a rep!” :)
The ones that was suppose to be easy for me, everything except rowing and MU, was. Rowing was also such an amazing feeling. Expecting to crash and burn I started out at a sub 1:30 tempo to give my self some kind of buffert at the end. Wisely enough, after 60 seconds I realized it was smarter to go a little slower and I made a new PB with almost 5 seconds, and it didn’t even feel like a 100% effort! I was tired however and am very pleased that I was able to get the MU’s at a steady pace, one at a time.

11.45 Event 2 – ”Strong Rasmus”, Amrap 7 min:
Only KB and Burpees counts as points!

  • 5/5 KB-Snatches@32kg
  • 60m Weighted Run, 30kg Sandbag
  • 10 Burpees
  • 60m Weighted Run

Score: 54p

This is the only part of my own performance that I’m not satisfied with. During the first half of the men’s heats, including mine, the rain fell at a steady pace making the kettlebells super slippery. For my now ”proper” technique with these snatches it was just devestating, think I aborted atleast 8 attempts since it just about slipped out of my hand. However, the conditions were the same for all of us in the first four heats and my conditioning felt off. Goal was to complete at least 3 full rounds (+60 points) and I should have done better..
A little odd scoring system didn’t balance the first two events evenly and the second one had a much bigger impact on the ”cut”. But, 62 athletes made it through to the 3rd event and I made it at 54th!

14.00 Event 3 – ”CrossFit Total II”
The athletes have 9 min to establish a 1 RM in the 3 lifts. 3 attempts are allowed on each lift. Warm up must be done prior to the start of event.

  • Over Head Squat:
    90kg/1, 100kg/F!
  • Clean:
    90kg/1, 100/1, 105/1 PB!
  • Bench Press:
    120kg/1, 130/1, 140/1 PB!*

Total Score: 335 kg

This was for me the coolest event. The audince was crowded up inches away from our lifting spaces and the atmosphere was just electric! My plan was to set the bar up for an OHS, dump it infront of me (had to dump it in controlled manners infront for a good rep) and then just clean it asap. Worked fine for the first round and I got my safety lifts at 90kg in OHS & Clean very fast. For the second OHS at 100kg I got all the way down and almost all the way up, but for some rason I lost my shoulder stability and had to drop the weight approx 15-20cm from full lockout. Very annoying. The clean however was easy.
Since I now doubted my shoulders and due to the fact that we didn’t had any time to warm up, I chose to take a step down from my plan and started my Bench at 120 instead of going straight for 130. Both, 120 and 130 was super light and when I got to 140 there was no chance in hell I was gonna miss it with the crowd screaming around me as Ditte announced what I was going for. Very smooth lift and maybe I could have got more, but anyway it was an awsome feeling right there and then!
*I won’t count this as a Bench PB however since we in this compeition was allowed to ”sky hump” as much as we wanted, which I of course then did.
After that lift I dropped the bar, put on 105 and full of adrenaline I just power cleaned it without any problems! My only regret in this event is that I at that point with only seconds to go didn’t put that weight up overhead, then I also would’ve got a new PB in C&J… ;)
Going into every new event from the 3rd and forward the previous scores was erased. This obviusly rewarded the strong athletes and I was now at a split 10th place.

17.00 Event 4 – ”The F*cked up Bear Complex”
Athletes have 45 seconds to perform 1 round of the following barbell-complex, without letting go of the barbell.

  • Clean
  • Front Squat
  • Over Head Anyhow
  • Back Squat
  • Over Head Anyhow

After 45s there will be a 15s rotation and the athletes move up to a heavier bar. 5kg increase from 60kg to 105kg or until the athlete fail at any weight.

Score: 95 kg

This was done on a parking lot outside with athletes standing on a line moving forward to the next weight at every rotation. Again the atmosphere provided by the audience sitting and standing around us was amazing. I actually expected this one to be much more taxing but it wasn’t until around 90 that my technique started to crack. Not surprised however, at this point my body was pretty tired. I went all the way up to 100kg, but there I missed at the very last overhead, from the back position, which might seem close. But hey, no cigarr..
8 athletes went through to the final and I think that at least 7 got all bars up to 105 done so I was far away from that anyway, which I think is a good thing. So far the events had been very much to my advantage and the final it self was a monster of a duet triplet which would have displayed many of my weaknesses at once, making that scenario only embarrassing.

Summary:

I can’t in anyway be anything else than happy with my own performance, setting a couple of new PB’s and feeling very strong overall. Think I ended up somewhere around place 15-20, (they’ll release the final scores within soon), with only one or two other swedes beating me with this scoring system, but that’s not really the point. In another competition many other would still beat me over and over again and my only goal for this competition was to get to do as many events as possible and to beat my self in as many ways as I could. And I did! :D

So many memories from this weekend will cling on for a long time and to compete in this kind of environment, which I think only the CrossFit-Community could provide, is something I would recommend to anybody. No matter at what level you think you are, no matter how much you think that everybody else is so much better than you, just do it! The reward is always worth it and you will perform at a higher level. The adrenaline, friendship and just plain inspiration this day brought to me is undescribable.

As for the Finals it was just a super cool thing to get to watch such impressive athletes from the sideline. Finish Mikko Arenpää was in a league of his own and after crushing the competition it looked like he was barely breaking sweat when he crossed the finishline with almost a full 400m lap to the nearest competitor!
The girls was just as insanely impressive.
Annie from Island could probably beat most of the guys with her strength and yet, this time she was only second to British Samantha who was unstopable during the 400m runs at the last triplet. Looking from the side it looked like she was going at full speed all the way and she just flew away on the last lap. Also, Jenny showed as always that she is without doubt the best girl in Sweden and finished in a strong 3rd place, well done!

After the competition we headed back to Copenhagen and went to a place that according to our friends, (no names), supposed to have ”The best meat in the world”. Let’s just say, that life is all about perceptions. Your world doesn’t necessarly have to be the same as my world… But, I did get very full, it was a ”all you can eat kind of restaurant”, and even though I’m not sure I even wanna know what kind of meat the ”veal” or ”beef” really was, I had a really fun time.
At the after party venue however, I was a beat man and even though that too was very friendly and nice, I was way to tired to be able to socialize for long. A couple of beers and even a missjudged attempt to find some energy in a sugary Gin and Red Bull was all I could do before dropping off to the hotel for some much needed and if you ask me, well deserved sleep…

Namaste!

Tuning in

23 09 2010

Everyday Courage has few witnesses,
but yours is no less noble because no drums beats before you
and no crowds shout your name.

- Robert Louis Stevenson

Trying to fool my sun craving body that I actually need those sunglasses at 12 degrees..

10.15 am, WOD – ”Keep those muscles toned and speedy!”

Warm Up: Chasing away mosquitoes and a huge* autumn-sluggish wasp!
*Those who know how fobic I am about insects realize that this was probably a small one, but still the best warm up I could ever get… ;)

For speed, not time, (30sec rest b/t sets, but no rest b/t 1 and 2 in each couplet!):

A1. 3 * 5 Hand Stand Push Ups. Super strict, feet together, shoulder narrow stance, nose to floor and ”see through” at top.
A2. 3 * 5 L-Pull Ups in Rings. False grip, Chest to rings and full turn out in bottom.
B1. 3 * 5 Over Head Squats with Plank
B2. 3 * 5 Ring Rows
C1. 3 * 5l/5r Pistols
C2. 3 * 5 Ring Dips. Turn out at top
D1. 3 * 10 Push Ups
D2. 3 * 10 Sit Ups

30 min Stretching and Mobility Work

HSPU & L-PU was slow and strict, all the others focues on speed with full ROM. All in all it took me less than 20 minute to complete the sets and my body feels strong and fast, good times!

They just released the first WOD for the FaF-Challenge!

SKILL SESSION

-          MUSCLE-UPS (7/4 reps)
Within 2 minutes, can be broken.
-          SQUAT SNATCH ( 1 rep @ 70/45 kg)
As many attempts as needed within 2 minutes
-          PISTOLS (10 rep /each leg)
Can switch leg as wished, 2 minutes time limit.
-          ROPE CLIMB (1 x up)
Doesn’t say how high, but as many attempts as needed within 2 minutes.
-          500 M ROW (sub 1:35/ 1:50)

-          HANDSTAND PUSH-UPS (10 reps)
Can be broken as wished, within 2 minutes.
-          DOUBLE UNDERS (30 reps unbroken)
As many attempts as needed within 2 minutes.

What we don’t know is in which order we’ll have to do this. Dream would be to start with Snatch and finish off with Rowing, nightmare would be to start with Row and have to do the Snatch straight after that!
Think I should be able to get all the others done pretty easily so now all I can do is hope that I get lucky in the draw. Don’t wanna jinx my self, but if everything goes as planned i should be among the 30 athletes that gets to the 4th event: The f*cked up Bear Complex, which probably is gonna kill me or at least cripple me for good… ;)

Tonight I have a date with an empty wine bottle to roll out my stiff areas. Hip and Lower Back area is the only thing bothering me right now since it seems to be stiff and aiching every morning. Hopefully the 48 hours that’s left before competing will fix that!

Namaste!

Active resting in shape

22 09 2010

The Buddha says that pain or suffering arises through desire or craving
and to be free of pain we need to cut the bonds of desire.

- Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now

10.30 am, WOD – 5 min light pose running, warm up mobility and then:

A. On every 3rd minute, approx 150m accelerating Hill Sprints @ 70-95%

  • 26,8s
  • 26,6s
  • 25,7s

B. Yoga, stretching and meditation, 30 min

Well, I’m not sure I agree fully with the Enlighted one on this one. Sure, in many ways I do, but I also beleive that people need goals and aim to be the best they can be at all time. Hence ”desiring” improvement both physically and mentally. Nothing wrong with living a prospering life as long as it’s not the ”things” you crave that runs your life.
Anyway, set my finishing line approx 10m further away and focused on being explosive all the way up the tarmac hill. Felt good all the way and never pushed it especially hard at all..

A lot of mobility work and stretching is what’s going on in my solitude out in the woods. Not complaining at all tough, today the sun is shining and it’s all very peaceful here. Perfect for contemplating times and mentally preparation for the coming weekend in other words.

Namaste!

Now, it’s resting time!

- Robin Sharma, Discover your Destiny

Finally!

12.15 pm WOD

A. Warm up: General wu, Burgener, KB-Snatch @ 32kg, Snatch and Snatch pulls @ 40-50kg

B. Snatch, ”Max For Day”:
50/2, 60/2, 70/1+F

C1. 3 OHS @ 22X1 Tempo (30s rest to c2):
70/3, 80/3, 90/2 PB!
C2. Muscle Up, Max Reps (3 min rest to c1):
4 (5th Failed), 4 (5th F), 4

D. 3 Rounds for time:

  • 10 CTB-PU
  • 10 Clapping PshU
  • 10 Jumping Squat

Time: 3’12min

E1. Pistols:
5 left/5 right, 5/5, 6/6
E2. L-sit on knuckles:
10s, 12, 20

Felt a little banged up today, especially right side of my entire back is pretty stiff and sore. This was however going to be the last one before the competition so I decided to go for it anyway. Also, since every body has been telling me about the benefits of power lifting shoes, I finally got my self a new pair today!
I’ve always been a little skeptical about using ”aid” in my training, I wan’t every lift and performance I do to be entirely Me, kind of. But, when it’s something that everybody swear by and also something that probably holds me back if I don’t get it, I guess I have to give in with these ones.
And, they work! The balance in the bottom position of any squat is waaaay more stabile, so for someone with my lack of mobility it’s obviusly gonna make a huge difference.. ;)

WOD. Snatching was not very explosive today. No problem up to 70kg first lift but already there I felt that my back position was off and it was probably smart to not go higher. OHS was incredibly more easy with the shoes! Shoulders was a bit smoked however so I called it after two reps with good depth but a little wobbling due to the shoulder instability. Muscle Ups felt better than in a long time. The transition was way smoother and even though the last two on the first set was about to rip my left shoulder off, the last two sets felt very good.
The ”metcon” was fast for the first two rounds, and then I had to break both PU (still held on to the bar though) and PshU. Think I once again proved to my self that I can’t train metcons on an empty stomach, but it somehow was probably just the right amount of reps right now.
For Pistols, same experience as OHS, so much easier in the new shoes. Did two sets of 5 reps str8 on each side and then tried some tempo and alternating legs for last set. L-sit on knuckles is harder then on parallettes, but even though my legs wasn’t even close to stretched out, it still felt pretty comfortable to know that I can do this if it shows up in the skill session on Saturday…

All in all a pretty good last ”real workout”, only thing bothering me is my aiching lower back but it’s not as bad as it was with my injury. Some light running sessions and a lot of stretching and mobility work for the reminder of the week will hopefully get me into perfect shape!

Namaste!

Seeeoooouuujaaa!

20 09 2010

(Swedish for: Hell yeah!)

”The Soul would rather fail at it’s own life than succed at someone else’s…”

- David Whyte

Let’s just get this clear, the happy expression from my side isn’t cause today’s training was that good. I’m just a little bit thrilled cause I was hoping for one thing for the FitAsFuck Competition’s Strength-part and now they decided to put that Bench Press in there!
I actually can’t complain about the other lifts either, but I’ll get to that further down.

4.00 pm, WOD:

A1. Power Clean (+jerk in some lifts), ”Max For Day”
60kg/3 (+1 J), 80/2 (+1 J), 90/2 (+1J), 100/1 PB! (+5kg), 105/F, 105/F
Sorry Marcus, I ”lied”, mixed up my previous PC.. ;)

A2. Bench Press, 90% of Max for Day:
80kg/10, 100/5, 110/5, 120/2, 130/1

B. 3 Rounds:

  • 3 Power Cleans @ 80kg
  • Max reps HSPU, nose to ground, elevated +5cm: 11 reps, 6, 5

C. Tabata Row, 20 sec on/10 sec off, for distance:

822m PB…

Started up with some Burgener and Clean High Pull with the technique ques CrossFitDave taught me last time and my power clean has never been easier. 100kg was like lifting cotton, well still a little wide landing so almost anyway, so I was very surprised when my timing was totally off for the two attempts at 105.
Bench press was light and I chose not to go higher since I didn’t have a spotter, and also to not get too sore in regards of the weekend.

Tabata Row… OK, no excuses I just suck at this. First four rounds, 114/113/108/105. Then 95/96/95/96, just wasn’t able to push my self 100% today mentally. Also, I stupidly enough chose to put the damper at 6, wich totally smoked my biceps, again. Some people never learn…

For the competition then. I really hope I will be able to be amongst the 62 guys getting through to the 3rd event, since I actually couldn’t ask for better excercises for 1RM-lifts. (Well, when my back is 100% deadlift would be better than Cleans but that’s not the case).
I have my tactics pretty clear and this is what I aim for:

Clean ”Anyhow”:

  • Shame level (starting weight): 90kg
  • Goal: 100kg
  • Dream: 110kg

Over Head Squat:

  • Shame: 90kg
  • Goal: 100kg
  • Dream: 110kg

Bench Press:

  • Shame: 130kg
  • Goal: 140kg
  • Dream: 150kg

We will be able to start the OHS from a high rack pos (with arms extended) if we chose to. I have never done that however, so I will have to try that version tomorrow to see if it will be easier for me than to rack jerk it from behind the neck. There is also a ”3 attempts per excercise within a total of 9 minutes”-rule, making tactics very interesting. But as said, I have mine pretty figured out.
So, now it’s only a matter of getting through the first events ”7 skills for fail or pass” and to make a good enough score in the second one’s ”7 min amrap with KB-snatches, Sandbag Run & Burpees” to actually qualify for the strength event. Should be a piece of cake, huh? ;)

Namaste!

Run Forrest, Run!

18 09 2010

The World is a book, of which they who never stir from home read only a page.

- St. Augustine.
(From ”Discover your Destiny” by Robin Sharma).

Wish I was this stylish during my runs...

6.30 pm, WOD – On top of every 3rd minute, approx 140m* Hill Sprint @ 90%:
*According to MapMyRun.

  1. 24 sec
  2. 23s
  3. 23s
  4. 21s *
  5. 23s
  6. 24s

* Obviusly a cute girl, walking her dog, had to show up making me ”showing off” my super fast sprinting skills… ;)

It’s weird. I don’t think that I have trained my legs any more than usual lately, but some how their ability to recover has improved a lot! Usually I go super stiff for a couple of days whenever I do anything stressful for my legs so I was expecting them to be none cooperating today after yesterdays two wods. But, either it’s thanks to the recovery pants or somehow I’m actually becoming a better athlete.
In any case these running intervals took place on a tarmac road and in a pretty steep hill and all of them felt pretty good. Recovery between runs was also good, only the one where I went 100%, thanks to the hot brunette, was really taxing. Next time I think I’ll go for 10 rounds!

Now it’s time for me and my mother to put some lamb fillets on the braai and served with a glass of a Spanish Syrah, there’s not much more I could wish for this Saturday night.

Namaste!

Feeling good!

17 09 2010

But first some thoughtful words:

”Good Judgement comes from Experience,
Experience comes from making Mistakes.
Mistakes comes from Bad Judgement…”

12.15 WOD 1 @ CrossFit Nordic

A. Mini Flight Simulator, Double Unders: 5-10-15-20-25-20-15-10-5
Time: 1’32 min PB! (-17 sec).

A. Power Snatch 3 * 1 @ 90% + Max for day:
60kg/1, 65/1, 70/1, 75/1 PB!

B. 3 Rounds for time of:

  • 5 Power Snatches @ 60kg
  • 2+2 Turkish Get Ups @ 35kg
  • 400m Row

(Shame level: 17 min, Goal: 14 min, Dream: 10 min)
Time: 18’03 min…

Rest +1h

16.30 WOD 2, 5 Rounds For Time, (everything has to be unbroken!):

  • 3 Thrusters @ 60kg
  • 5 KB-Swings @ 32kg
  • 7 Box Jumps @ 60cm
  • 9 Toes to Bar
  • 11 Double Unders

(”After construction”, Shame Level: 15 min, Goal: 12 min, Dream: 9 min).
Time: 8’38 min!

So, a full day of training with CrossFit Dave and of course the plan was to follow his programme from Rikard. Think they have the best DU-ropes in the world @ CFN.. ;)
Snatch technique felt a bit rusty, but after help with some cues from Dave to get a fuller hip extension they actually turned out better than expected. 75 lift was WAY better then my super-after-press-version last time I got this. Still things to work on but I’m satisfied and feel confident I can go higher with some training!
The metcon was nothing but awful, on paper. 35kg TGU!? I’ve only done 38kg once before.. 60kg Snatch isn’t excactly a walk in the park either and add rowing to the equation, (subbed from 400m row since I need this more). Got the rows in 1’24 min, 1’27 & 1’29 so pretty consistent, still I’m really having trouble with recovery here.
Did beat Dave with a little more than half of a minute, as a little comfort to my poor result…

After a nice lunch that Dave treated me with at ”Matdistriktet” it was time for the second metcon, which was something we made up. Dave hurt his wrist in a TGU so we had to re-plan from a harder version of ”Grace”. Both of us actually over estimated this one. We didn’t really put any levels out there but agreed that sub 15 was a must, both expected this to be a monster. Going back to the quote above, I really need to learn to push my self to the max and rather learn from harder mistakes in metcons than regretting not going all out afterwards. Not saying this was easy in any way, but I was so scared of boinking that I actually feel I’ve could have gone faster…

However, sometimes you have to relize speed isn’t everything. When I was riding our EU-scooter home from the trainstation, I cursed the plugged SOB for not going over 40km/h. Almost at home a deer suddenly jumped out, no more than 10m infront of me and crossed the road. Suddenly I felt that I rather go slow and freeze my hands of, (obvius forgot to wear gloves), than not getting to my destination at all…

Namaste!
